'Salt+Wax' is the second book by Mark. Having surfed since the age of nine Mark wanted to capture a sport from the real angle and not the stereo-typed imagery that so regularly goes hand-in-hand with this sport. Images that hopefully all surfers will relate to - the everyday obsessions that all watermen have.
A limited edition signed book, only 500, all hard-backed quarter bound foil blocked things of beauty. (B5: 245mm x 165mm / 48 page / Full Colour).
'Salt+Wax' is a Pledge Project - simply put, once we have 300 pledges the book will go to print. In buying a copy, you become part of the process - with your name printed in the 'Pledgers Hall of Fame'. So, be sure to include your name as you'd like to see it appear when you visit Paypal. We will keep you updated with our progress on the Salt+Wax Facebook page and for a more detailed insight into the book and the pledging concept visit the 'info' section on FB and all will be explained.

"Mark has captured the sentiment of the water world’s view of life. The pages bring us back to the happier reality."
Tom Wegener - Shaper
"I so appreciate Mark Leary's photographic essay of surfers in between their wave riding moments. For me, he really nailed the fact that even though we come from many different places and walks of life we share a wonderful commonality and sense of awe in our daily existence because of the gift of surfing!"
Marc Andreini - Shaper
"Mark has examined the minutiae of not just the surfing experience, but the surfing experience here and now. To my mind, it captures an importance stage in the development of our culture... Mark leads us to question and better understand what it really means to be obsessed by this pursuit."
Daniel Crockett - Publisher ‘Kook’
"Mark Leary's work floated in from a surprise angle and landed like a soft, cool flannel to the furrowed brow. It felt familiar, comfortable and endearing. In the language of surf, it appeared somewhat 'kooky' but was actually 'totally core' and truly insightful."
Alex Dick-Reid - Editor/ Surfers Path
